Baby Blessing

Image
My Grandpa is getting re-baptized after being away from the church for 12 years. We're all SO excited. ALL of my family is coming into town for it. So, we've decided to bless Brodey while everyone is down here. So, we're blessing him this sunday at my parents ward. If anyone would like to come, call me or e-mail me and I'll give you the time and location. Brodey {one week old}. He looks like a little man now.

CRAZY neighbors!

Image
The people who live below us have been noisy at night since the moment we moved in. They play loud bass music from 11:30 PM until like 6:30 AM, their dogs bark and fight with each other during the night, and there is always banging on the walls during the night. It was really hard to fall asleep and sleep all through the night while I was pregnant. On Christmas Eve I got sick of it so I wrote a note and put it on their door. I just asked them politely if they could turn their music down. But, they never did. So, I went and complained to the apartment office a few days later. But, that didn't do anything either. Well, the night before I was scheduled to go to the hospital it was really bugging us. We wanted to get plenty of rest for the big day. So, at like 1:00 AM Pete went and knocked on their door and asked them if they could turn it down again. They still didn't. Then, the night we got home from the hospital we were awoken at 3:45 AM by banging noises and barking. It was so ...

Jealous!

Pete came up with a great way to recruit guys to work for him. He presented the idea to his boss and he loved it. Pete served his mission in Guatamala. He has always wanted to help people down there. Now he has the resources to do so. So, his company is paying for him and his manager to fly down there and recruit guys to come up here and work for the summer. If it goes well Pete will make a TON of money. He thinks he'll get a lot of guys to sign up. His company will pay for their temporary work visas, airplane ticket here, and their housing while they live here. So, it's a great oppurtinuty for people down there. He's so excited to go back to his old stompin' ground. I wish I could go to. He leaves in a few weeks. It's going to be crazy with out him here to help me. So, I plan on staying with my parents while he's gone. Pray that it goes well for him!

The Whole Experience

Image
Here's how the whole labor played out. I went in on Monday night around 5. They checked me and said my cervix wasn't soft enough. So, they put this gel inside me and it had to sit for six hours. It was a long six hours but it went by fast because Pete and I sat and watched Desperate Housewives on our portable DVD player. They gel made me have contractions. So, they gave me this pain medication. It was crazy stuff. I felt like I was on drugs. My best friend Hilarie came to hang out at the hospital like 10 minutes after they gave it to me. She said I was acting and saying crazy stuff. So, she didn't stay long. After she left the hospital she went to my parents house to sleep because she lives kind of far away and didn't want to miss it. Around 12:45 AM they started the putossin (sp?). I was dilated to a 3. Then, at 1:30 AM I got the epidural because my back was already killing me from all the contractions from the gel. Then, I just layed there all night waiting. I couldn...

Fun at the Zoo

Image
Today we went to the zoo with a playgroup. It was really fun. I was hoping all the walking would put me in labor, but it didn't. I don't have many days left anyway though because at my last doctors visit we scheduled my induction. My doctors starting me 6 days early! So, I only have 3 days left! He's starting me on Monday, Martin Luther King's Birthday. So, that's kind of cool because all of my family will have no work and no school. So, they can all be there for the big moment. YEAH! So, look for upcoming pictures of Brodie!

The Duttons for Dinner

Image
I don't know if any of you know who the Duttons are, but we {my parents} had them over dinner last night. My family met them 3 years ago when they decided to make Arizona their winter home. My dad invited them over for dinner the first year they performed here. They made time in their schedule and came over. They had the best time. So, now every year they come over for a big fun dinner. There are about 30 people that come {not all of them can always make it}. The family has 7 kids who are all married and have kids. Plus, they have 7 adopted children. By the way, for those of you who don't know, the Duttons are a family performing group. They live in Branson Missouri and run their own Hotel, Deli, and Performance Hall. Their whole family sings and plays every instrument. They are really good. Buisness is slow in Missouri in the winter so they come here to perform in the winter. They recently tried out for America's Got Talent. They made it to the top ten. So, that was cool. ...

Still No baby!

Image
Well, I thought I'd give everyone an update. I haven't had my baby yet. Darn! But, the good news is that the doctor said he'd start me early. So, I only have like 12 days left. This past month seems so have gone by SO slow. It feels like this baby has been inside me for the longest time. I can't wait for him to come out. I can't wait to take care of a newborn again. It's been so long since we've had one in our house. I hope I remember what to do. Ha ha. Here's me at 37 weeks. We haven't been up to much. I mostly just feel like staying home. But, Bryson likes to inform me that he's bored. So, a few days a week we'll go to the Chandler Mall play area. Bryson likes that. I don't like it so much. The benches are uncomfortable and there are always millions of kids there. My parents are hosting 4 Russian orphan boys for a few weeks. Bryson likes playing around and wrestling with them. So, we'll go over there a few times a week too so he ...

Baby Shower Update

My friend and I decided that we're going to have the Baby Shower Dinner after the baby is born. We couldn't come up with a good day that would work for both of us before the baby is born. I hope that's ok with everyone. We'll probably do it like a week or two after he's born. And, that way you can all meet him. That would be fun. So, I'll keep you updated on the date. Thanks!
