Genius!

I've been meaning to post this for a couple of days. This actually happened the day before the 4th of July. I was driving to my parents house to spend the day. I reached the four way stop just before their house. I looked both ways before going and when I did that I caught a glimpse of someone. I thought to myself "That looks like Larissa {my sister}." Then, I said to myself, "That IS Larissa!" Then, I took a closer look at said, "And there's my dad!" It was so strange to look up and see them there. So, I pulled into the parking lot to see what was up. Well, my sister wanted to have a lemonade stand so my dad went down to the corner with her to be her body guard. He worked on a drawing project the whole time. He just loves sitting under trees to write or work on projects. Here he is plugging away.

And here's cute little Larissa. I thought she was crazy for doing this until she told me she had done the same yesterday and made $61.00 in 3 hours. After that I thought about opening up my own lemonade stand {I'd just make myself some business cards like that little boy I posted about a short while ago}

She wanted to earn money so she could buy a plane ticket to Texas. Our other sister just moved there last week and she's dying to go visit.

When she got finished with this lemonade stand she made another $64.00 and was able to purchase that plane ticket. She's a very determined litle girl. When she wants something, she finds a way to get it. I was very impressed.

We stayed and hung out for probably an hour. Bryson had fun wearing all the hats Larissa had down there to keep the sun off of her.

They were all a little big

And, of course, he had to help sell. He was waving his arms trying to get cars to stop. It was so cute.

So, the moral of the story is....if you're short on cash, open up your own lemonade stand!

  1. That is so cute!! Good for her! I'm glad she made enough to go on her trip. What a great example of "where there's a will, there's a way!" Go Larissa!

  2. That's awesome! I need to get rid of all our old appliances and some stuff from the house... I haven't known what to do, but maybe I'll just sit on the corner with it and make big bucks! Way to be Larissa.

  4. Wow! How awesome that she bought her ticket! I bet Bryson was having a blast, although I'm not sure how you stood in the heat for so long. I'm a baby.

    Kyle is in town right now. We're currently up in Pinedale (and have been for a few weeks). We have one week in the Valley (from Saturday until we leave on Thursday) so we need to get together then. Are you guys free?? I would LOVE to have some pictures taken. My mother-in-law has been begging us for a year to get a new family pictures and individual shots of the kids for her wall. We would win son and daughter-in-law of the year if we could accomplish that!
