New Vs. Old

We're finally in our new apartment. It's SO much better then our last {you'll see}. Pete and I were talking last night and decided we never really felt at home at our last apartment. It felt like we were living in somone else's house. If you'll look at the picture below you'll see it has has two doors. The owner of the place lived on the right side of the black mailboxes and we lived on the left side of the mailboxes. The owner would wake up at like 5:30 in the morning and mow his lawn, plant flowers, talk to neighbors, ect. He'd wake us up early several times a week. It was really annoying. It made it feel like it was his space and we were invading upon it. Here, we feel lke it's our place. We feel like normal human being again. It's such a nice feeling. We're all so happy. Bryson loves having his own room. Yesterday he said to my sister, "I have a new room, new toys, new trucks, and whatever I want!" It was so funny. He thinks all of his toys are new just because they are in a new location. It's so funny. Well, here are some pictures. This is the outside of our old place.
This was our living room.

This was our DISCUSTING bathroom. No matter how much we cleaned it, it never looked clean. Don't forget to check out the wallpaper on the walls. Ha ha. I'm SO not going to miss that...or the ugly plant hanging down!

Here was our kitchen baby! Check out the wallpaper in here. YUCK!

Here was our ONE bedroom. Bryson slept this close to us. He usually ended up on our bed. We couldn't get into the closet because Brysons bed was blocking it. So, most of the time our clothes ended up in baskets between our beds. Can you see why I wanted out so bad?

Here's the outside of our new place. We live up the stairs. My calves are already getting a work out.

We have this beautiful green grass right below our apartment. Bryson loves playing in it.

Bryson quickly found his little "nest". He ate a whole bag of Hershey's in one day. I know, I'm a bad mother. But, it kept him entertained while I put the house together.

Here's the dining room and front door. The apartment came furnished. So, this table was already here. It's really nice. I'm not sad to ditch my old one.

Here's Bryson's cute little bathroom. I love the shower curtain and rug I picked out.

Here's our bathroom. The shower is amazing. It has two little seats in it, it has the warmest water, and the best showerhead. I could stay in there all day.

Here's the best feature of all....a washer and dryer! Ohh how I've missed you! I love being able to switch laundry out all day at my convience. I feel like I'm in heaven. I feel so accomplished now.

Bryson's room. It came with a twin bed. We also brought his toddler bed with us. He doesn't want to sleep on his toddler bed. He wants to sleep on "his BIIIG bed"{his direct words}. So, I think I'll move his bed to the storage unit. We still need to buy a comforter for his bed. He wants spiderman....go figure. Not sure how I feel about that.

Our room. We still need a comforter too.

Our living room. The couches were already here. They aren't comfortable though. We still need to bring over our own couch. It's ugly but it's SO comfortable. Right now, all I want is comfort. I lent out our couch last time I was 7 months pregnant. It was the worst. I had no comfy spot to lay. I won't make that mistake twice.

This is our kitchen. I have SO much space for everything. I LOVE IT! It's SO clean. I love cupboards! As you can probably tell, I'M SO HAPPY! I've decided the best part about being here in that I no longer have to deal with these two things...

this stupid mexican who would ride his bike down the street {twice a day} honking the most annoying horn in the whole world. Some days I wanted to run outside and tell him to shut-up.
The other thing is this lovely piece of machinery. "The Ghetto Bird!" It would circle over our house at least ten times a day. Good bye bird....hello peace and quiet.
{New apartment = huge sigh of relief}

  12. The new place looks awesome. And so clean.
I'm so scared of the ghetto bird. We live by Westwood High School and right after we moved in, I was taking the trash out and I heard a loud speaker. I thought it was the ghetto bird and ran inside and locked all the doors. When Cooper got home I told him that I heard the ghetto bird and he just started laughing. It was actually the Westwood football game. The speakers are that loud. (You can hear the whole game if we open our door on game nights.) I laughed too, but I'm still scared of the ghetto bird.

  14. You are so funny! The "ghetto stuff" reminds me of our old neighborhood & even though we're back to renting again...I don't miss the drama. It's nice to be able to take a walk or the kids out to play and not feel like you are going to get mugged, rapped, shot, etc, etc...The new place looks very nice...I hope you love it:)

  17. I couldn't stop laughing at the ghetto ice cream/candy or whatever crap he has in his little bike shop....LOL!!! The fact that you actually took a picture of him is hilarious!!! I hate his stupid horn too!! And now there's an ice cream van that drives down our street EVERY evening that plays the MOST ANNOYING song OVER AND OVER!! Aaarrrggggh!! Oh yeah, plus the "Tamale Lady" who pushes her cart down the street knocking on doors. Who the heck knows what's in those things?? I don't want to find out! Oh yeah, about your comforter, there are some on Final Clearance at Mervyns for $15 that are regularly $200!!! They are really nice too. They are marked down to $30 and then today and tomorrow all final price clearance ($2,$4,$6,$8,$10,$20,$30) are half off!!! You should go check it out and get some baby clothes for like 1 or 2 bucks! What size bed do you guys have?
I miss you already!! I feel like you are so far away and I don't get to see you at church anymore :(
    Sorry for the novel....:)

  18. How nice for you guys to have a new place that you love! It does look like it would be much more comfortable to live in. Glad Pete's job is going well also!

p.s. For some reason when you invited me to your blog I was invited under a different user name than I usually use. If you click on my name here in the comments it won't take you to my blog, and I always have to sign in under the different user name in order to read your blog. I tried to change that, but think it may need to be done on your end of things?
