Attack of the mosquitoes

So, I've been having a grand time with mosquitoes over the past few days. I had a solicitor come to my door a like 3 nights ago. I stood at the front door with the door open for like 10 minutes. He was trying to make me switch cable companies. All these mosquitoes kept landing on him. I was worried that some were going to come in my house so I tried to hurry him up. Sure enough, after I got him to leave, I sat on the couch and Bryson and I were immediately attacked. I killed two pretty quickly. I kept seeing another one but couldn't catch it to save my life. I spent like two hours diligently searching. I must have looked pretty silly. It got Bryson a few more times. When Pete got home he couldn't find it either. The rest of the night we kept itching our bodies. We felt like it was biting us all over. We didn't have any bites to show for it so I'm sure we were just paranoid. When it was time for bed I couldn't sleep. I just layed there for like 2 hours. I kept thinking it was biting me still. So, I kept slapping my face and stuff. It was ridiculous (I had a bad experience before with getting bitten by mosquitoes during the night...so, I was a really paranoid). The next day I kept seeing it fly in font of me but still couldn't catch it. It was SO frustrating! Around 11 Pm Pete and I walked into the kitchen and we saw it fly in front of us. I ran to the kitchen door and slammed it shut (remember my kitchen used to be a bedroom...so, it has a door). I told Pete we weren't leaving that room until that mosquito was dead! We weren't having much luck at first. We were in there for about 20 minutes when I suggested that Pete walk around the kitchen and wave a plate around to create wind so it couldn't land anywhere. And, I took my sandals off and said I'd whack it in mid air as it was having no choice but to fly. And, it worked, believe it or not. After doing this for like 2 minutes I caught him between my shoes. It was a happy moment! I could finally rest easy. I slept good that night. I swear I'm still seeing black things flying in front of me though. I even thought so at my moms house. She told me I was just loosing my mind. I very well could be. However......Pete did find and immediately kill(with his bare hand)another one in the bathroom this morning. Grrr.

  1. Hey, Jake had like 70 bites on his feet this morning(I have 4 or 5). He said it's like he's back in New Zealand(where he served the mish) I guess there's a problem w/ sqito's/ticks/fleas, all them biting things-gross! Anyway...As far as my background goes...I'm suprised I even figured out how to do it all. On my links there is one called "create your own template", It's some clever girl who's made a bunch of cute backgrounds and/or she gives you some pretty lengthy intructions on how to create your own. It took me hours-I tried to give up several times but I'd find myself saying "I'm smart, I WILL figure this out" Probubly a waste of my time..but I still feel a bit proud of myself-I'm a dork:)

  2. Don't you love it when sales men come to the door?? I HATE answering the door unless I know who it is. Thanks for commenting on my blog...I am sure glad you did, I love adding friends to my blog! I always remeber you being so nice to me in high school too...so the feeling is mutual! Bryson is a cutie!

  3. I to have a problem with mosquitos. Whenever we have irrigation we get a ton. My kids always have bites running up and down their legs. I feel so bad so they aren't allowed to play outside until all the water is dried up for a couple of days.
